I Love Lowes...right down to my toes...

Let me just tell you a little secret: I LOVE A DEAL! Let me tell you another secret. . .Lowe's has a garden clearance section! That's it, plain & simple. I've wanted to start my backyard garden for a while now, but wasn't sure what I wanted in it. When I finally did decide, I didn't have the funds to purchase my expensive picks;) I have had to readjust my initial plan a little, but I am happy to announce that this week, I purchased over $175 worth of plants for ONLY $40. (Don't tell my husband!) I have purchased plants in their clearance section before, but never have hit the jack-pot quite like I did this week. I was also told this week that sometimes plants are on clearance simply to make room for new arrivals. . .which explains why my purchased plants look GREAT!!! Happy hunting...just don't go to my Lowes!!!

  1. That is really good to know- I never want to spend a lot of $$$ on plants b/c I always kill them...but maybe I will try...

  2. Congratulations!

I LOVE a deal as well! I recently hit the Eckerd's going out of business transitioning to Rite Aid sales! Wah hoo! I bought upwards of $100 + of stuff for only $30 or so! Suntan lotion was only a $1.25 or so! Stocked up for this summer and next!

  4. Katrina--we went to our Eckerd's the other night--after I read about it on the Conley's blog, but we were too late;( I'm glad you were able to snatch some deals up, though!!

    Sara--it's definitely worth the try...for a $1 or $2, I don't mind if I lose a plant here or there;)

  5. I think Lowes has a warranty (1 year) on their plants too. If you keep your receipt you can take back any plants that don't make it and they will replace them. I don't know if it applies to clearance plants though.

  7. Your flowers are beautiful, Sarah! Will you come landscape my yard???? I'm not very good at that stuff. But thanks for the tips - Unfortunately our Lowe's is about 20 miles away; maybe it's worth the trip though. :-)

  8. I have to admit, the picture that I posted with this post is of my window boxes LAST winter;)) It is the only picture that I had of our yard on my computer--so I'll have to post a picture after I get everything planted;)) Kris--where in the world do you guys live in Michigan?!!! I don't know what I would do if my Lowes was that far away!!!;)

  9. Well, Sarah, we live in a small town - yes, I miss Lowe's. We have Home Depot close by, but it's just not the same. Ii'm getting adjusted to having to drive longer distances for certain things. Like Michael's Craft Store???? 20 min. away! I love that place, so this is withdrawal. Fortunately for me I have something that has to be returned there, so I guess I'll just have to go. :-) Your flowers from last year look great too.

  10. YAY for your deals! Can't wait to see the outcome! One summer while my mom was visiting we found blue nikko hydrangeas on clearance at walmart for $3.00 a plant. They were looking sad and forlorn, but with some TLC I have 5 beautiful, blooming bushes that get bigger and better every year! :)
