The "Fence Post"

Now you see it....now you don't! Steve moved our fence this weekend with the help of our neighbor Josh. We took down the beautiful chain link in the front yard...I am ecstatic;) Thanks Steve for your hard work!!!! Thanks Heijermans for the idea for the title of my post;) Now we just have to work on getting our grass to grow!!

Over the weekend, we also attended a free outdoor concert by the Virginia Symphony. One of our friends, Matt, plays in the symphony and it was really neat to see him on the job. We met up with a group of friends and had coffee afterwards. Monday evening we had dinner with Matt's family & a few of their symphony friends as well. It was a really special experience for Steve and I to meet such talented, yet humble people. It was a good reminder for us to pray for Matt and Sarah as they try to share Christ with their colleagues.

  1. I think no fence is a definite improvement! Very nice - and quite a clever title :) That's a cute picture of you and Steve.

  2. I also think the absence of the fence post is an improvement. It does look nice. Glad you had a good weekend.

  3. Wow! Very nice! I know you had mentioned doing that and it looks great! Now the two best buds will not have as much fun flying around and around the house! Oh well, just a back yard will do! =)

  7. Sarah--This really has nothing to do with this post, but I just want to tell you how proud (can I say "proud" to a fellow Cheteker???) I am of you for blogging. So many friends without children claim they have nothing to blog about, but I think that's because they only read "Mommy blogs." It's so fun to read about someone who is in a different stage of life. Thanks for sharing!

  8. I love how it looks w/o the fence; big improvement! Glad you enjoyed the Symphony! We wanted to go, but had a birthday party at our house for a friend, so we weren't able to go. Hope schools going well for both of you. We miss you.

  10. Love the new look of your front yard! I loved reading this post and wanted to let you know that the next time you hear of a free outdoor concert, please let us know. Mark absolutely loves hearing live symphony music and I love being outside. When I lived in DC we would go every summer to the concerts that were held on the mall and on the steps of the capitol building. Great memories! Glad your weekend was exciting:)...and the flowers from Steve were so cheery to look at!
