Yea for Yankees. . .

. . .Yankee Candles, that is! (yea for my NY Yankees too) Just for all of my friends out there who like deals, Bed Bath and Beyond has their Fall YC's 25% off; take a $5 coupon from their flier with you, and you have yourself a 1/2 price YC. My total came to $12.06 for this large 3-wick candle! Happy Fall to you. . .
This weekend we attended the annual Neptune Festival...a time where the locals "reclaim" the beach from the vacationers;) We have made it a tradition to go see the sand castle competition. Speaking of traditions...I attended a really neat party on Friday evening, "Once Upon A Family", a company that focuses on helping families build traditions etc... Their website is onceuponafamily.com if you want some easy but great ideas.

The above two pictures are of another tradition that we learned tonight. We were at Jared & Jed's birthday party and their family would, each year, on all birthdays, have everyone tear out the number from a piece of paper..BEHIND your back. So--see how nice Jared's is? Mine wasn't even close. . .but I thought it was a fun idea;)
...and these are the girls that we've prayed for --for these guys. One is already engaged...one more to go;)

  2. Mmmm...I haven't smelled that one yet! Happy fall...and be careful...I have heard of many frightening "fire" stories from candles recently! ;) We have the MEGA Yankee Candle Wharehouse by us (about 45 min away!) It is sooo incredible. It has every single candle scent they have ever made!! Thanks for the coupon tip!!

  4. Those sand castles are amazing! I especially liked the first one. By the way, have you heard Holly Stratton speak at a retreat before, too? I REALLY enjoyed her; I know there is so much more I could learn from her, if the retreat could've been longer. Oh, yes, I remember now, she used to be at BJ; I suppose that is where you heard her :)

  6. Ohhhh, I love a good fall candle burning. It's actually felt fallish here lately too! I think I just tossed my BBB coupon. :( I might see if any of the girls still have theirs (provided they don't want to get in on the candle deal) :) Thanks for sharing!
