MY NAME IS SARAH. . .

but I am not the one you're apparently looking for. . .

So, on Saturday morning, Steve and I sped into the Greenbrier area to snatch up a last minute wedding gift. He ran into Bed, Bath, and Beyond, while I lickety-splitted into Target to buy a card. I was busy looking for the perfect card when I noticed a woman coming down the aisle. She landed right smack next to me and started rifling through cards. . .

I was in the middle of thinking, "she's a bit in my personal space". . .

when. . .

all of the sudden. . .

she YELLS, "SARAH!!!!!!!!"

I jump and immediately start talking in-cohesively. . .

"Yes? Do I know you? You must know me? You scared me!" . . .

All at the same time I notice a cute little girl walking around the corner. . .

I can only hope for every other Sarah out there that that woman will look both ways next time before broadcasting!

It did give us a good laugh on the way to the wedding!

  1. That is hilarious! We do have a common name...that has happened to me several times (except not that close!)

  2. Am I too late to vote on you getting your haircut? Rats, but can I get in your personal space? Haha.

  5. That's hilarious! And I love the hair by the way. I actually considered a longer version of her cut too - it's so cute. Can't wait to see the after pics!

  6. That is SO strange! You have the strangest things happen to you! :-)

Paul and I have been talking about trying out that Cogan's pizza place here in Ghent. Would you & Steve want to meet us there some time?

  7. Hey...good one and I love the new "do"...just to encourage you as you think about it...since I know you are probably debating it on a regular basis. I always say, if you're ready for a change, just do it. It'll grow back if you hate it...but somehow, I never hate it :)

  8. Can't wait to see pics of the "new" you. I'm thinking of doing something similar but I have lots of excuses right now.

Creepy on the name thing, having your name yelled like that! You are so funny...I smile when I imagine the look on your face.

Similar things happened to me twice. Once when I was a teen, waiting for my mom outside of a store. Some guy came up and asked if I was Sue. Apparently he had arranged to meet a girl named Sue there (whom he met on a [this dates me] "party line") at that appointed time. Another was at a grocery store - a man said, "I think I know you. Is your name Susan?" Turns out I looked like another Susan he actually knew.
