Remembering God's Goodness and Our Journey to Oregon, Part 1

Psalm 111: [1] Hallelujah! I will praise the LORD with all my heart in the assembly of the upright and in the congregation. [2] The LORD's works are great, studied by all who delight in them. [3] All that He does is splendid and majestic; His righteousness endures forever. [4] He has caused His wonderful works to be remembered. The LORD is gracious and compassionate.

As we begin this journey to Oregon, I want to be careful that I give God the glory for all that He does--whether it appears that He is "blazing the trail full speed ahead", telling us to wait, or answering our requests with "no".

For me, it is easy to forget all of the many blessings God gives to us, and easy to recall the "hard times" of life. And so, I hope to keep a journal of all that God does for us, through my blog, during our journey to Oregon. . . . . . . . .

Just yesterday, our realtor came over and gave us our "to-do" list. I was so thankful that it was not very long--but it was still overwhelming. Overwhelming, because Steve is working a lot of extra hours for FedEx currently, and does not have a ton of spare time to accomplish The List. However, we are very grateful for the extra hours God has provided at FedEx. . .we know we need to be saving as much as possible right now!

On top of our to-do list, is re-glazing our bathroom tub. We had checked into a few different companies, always finding that their price was around $400. Yesterday, I decided to check a few more places out, and found a company that stripped and re-glazed the tub for $295. I was ecstatic! I also placed a call to Penske to check the daily rate on our truck. Even though we secured our truck several months ago, Penske has told us that if the daily rate is ever lower than the rate that we initially reserved the truck at, they would honor the new, lower rate! Unfortunately, the daily rate yesterday was about $400 higher than the rate we secured our truck at back in December/January. . .I can't remember exactly when. . .However, we were able to save an additional $183.00 with a AAA membership! We had asked about this earlier and were told that we would not be able to take advantage of it since they had already given us 20% off. I was thankful that the lady I spoke with WAS able to give us the discount. I asked her to make a note of it on our account so that there would be no "Indian-giving" on the AAA discount!

Oh, I also was elated to find that our Discover card's 5% cash-back for July is gas. . .yippee!!!

God is good!
