Goodbye Virginia, Part One

{Memories from our first year. . .}

We arrived in Virginia in July of 2005. We were newlyweds, new-to-Virginia, new seminary students, and excited to start this new chapter of our lives together. God has been so good to us throughout these four years in Vir-gin-i-ay. There is no way to describe His endless goodness to us. We made life-long friendships, life-changing decisions, and thousands of memories that will flood our minds for years to come here in Virginia. We love you Virginia and we love you our sweet friends. We are thankful for our years here and look forward to what God has in store for us in Oregon. I will be posting each day this week to complete our Goodbye Virginia series of posts. . . . . . . . . .

one of my first introductions to Virginia summer weather and I was in no way what-so-ever a happy camper about it! I specifically remember thinking "could I strip down to my skivies and get away with it? It is SO. HOT. HERE." We did enjoy the Oceana flight show. . .and apparently it was a bit loud for me as well? Steve just thinks this picture is the funniest.

Concert with Jim Brickman at the Neptune Festival 2005. We have loved attending the Neptune Festival each year--for those of you out of state, it is a weekend festival where the locals "reclaim" their beach from the tourists.

signing to become official home-owners in October of 2005
bringing home our first Christmas tree. . .in the Corolla. . .which became our tradition
