Saturday Market, bike weddings, sand sculptures, and mickey mouse hats.........
Last Saturday, my friend Annie and I ventured to downtown Portland. The three cuties above ventured out with us and we had a marvelous time walking along the Willamette while taking in the sights of the Saturday market.
I'm pretty sure that Graeme is saying, "mom, I have a question, why does Julia have four teeth and I have none?". Yep, I'm pretty sure.
The Saturday market afforded us great views of the fountains, the silver man, and new-to-me, bike weddings. Yes, a marriage of two bikes--what will they think of next?
Yep, these two tied the knot. Tied the spoke?
Later that evening, Steve, Graeme and I headed out to see the sand sculptures in the market square. And I have to admit, it was a complete fail. Maybe because Steve and I were so spoiled with Virginia Beach's magnificent sand sculptures. Sorry, Portland, we did actually say something bad about you--but we love you for so many other reasons!
They had just a few sculptures, one of which was an Alice in Wonderland theme. You knew I couldn't pass up miss Alice, right? Loved the mushrooms! And then, we came upon this street band--they actually had a very fun sound and I loved how happy they were making music together.
See the trumpet player? Steve thought that Andrew Hughes could totally pull that little combo off...........
Kelly, let me know if you want me to keep a look out for the accordion!
( wink, wink )
hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I know we will.......
we're picking up our pals, Rob and Jules, and miss Brynnie, at the airport on Saturday!
