In honor of Graeme's 14 month birthday today, I thought I would post some more of my favorite pictures from Graeme's first birthday party, photographed by our friend Aubrie. It was such a beautiful day.
thank you, Pop Pop for holding down my shirt so that my belly did not show. Even though mommy bought me an 18mo. shirt. And, notice my snazzy shorts? ( mommy was pretty excited about those! )

happy 14 months, Graeme!

Graeme is growing by leaps and bounds and we underestimate him so much of the time. A few weeks ago, I caught him trying to put on his socks. So cute;-) Graeme can say bottle ( of course! ), dada, mama, doggie, daddy, all done, thank you, Barbie ( for my sister Barb ), uh-oh, basketball ( I am not kidding ), and hot. He does not always say these words on command and we are working on that. He uses sign language for the word "more" and he waves goodbye and hello. Although, the big joke is that he usually is a tad late on the waving;-)

He knows what certain things are, for instance-- cars, blanket, socks, yellow circle, pink pig, fireman, doggy, book, triangle, and blocks-- and will bring them to us if we ask.

Graeme's taken his first steps, but is not yet walking. He has moved to one nap, which is so nice for getting out and doing things. He is still my wonderful sleeper, 13 hours at night, plus a 2-3 hour nap daily. I read once that a well rested child is a child that eats well and plays well. I would have to agree, as Graeme enjoys gobbling up anything in sight, as long as it is not tofu!

Well, I think that about sums up our little guy's life right now.
We love him to pieces and are enjoying every moment.
( except the pooping in the tub moments )
today, I am so thankful for every man and woman that is fighting for us. It breaks my heart that so many of them will be, and have been, away from their families for the holidays.

  1. What a little darling! It must be hard to get anything productive done with him being so adorable!

  2. yes, E, pretty much;-)

  3. Sounds like his language skills are moving right along! I love to hear what one-year-olds can say and identify!

Thank you so much for reading here and sharing life with me!
