( I'm probably biased, but I think............ ) Graeme has a pretty good memory for such a little guy. He remembers things that I don't (well, is that really such a surprise--I mean, seriously, my brain is absolutely gone with a capital G in this pregnancy! ) and especially remembers things that I promised or said before nap-time. If I tell him, "put down your car, mommy will put it right here, and after nap-time you can play with it again", he will usually ask for it first thing after waking up etc. A few days ago, Steve had brought home a package of mini-chocolate doughnuts and when Graeme saw me eating one, he asked, "this?", which really means, "can I have that?", wink wink. I gave him half of one, explaining to him that this was a very special treat and that we don't get treats very often. He took a bite and kept saying, "yummy treat, yummy treat!". When he finished, I reminded him that that was all--we were all done with our treat. He never asked again all day long and I figured he had probably forgotten all about the treat. But yesterday morning, when I went to get him out of his crib, the first little word out of his mouth was, "treat?". I could not help but laugh--oh, he remembered all right! I could not say no to that, so we walked into the kitchen and went to the treat bag and opened it up and-- they were gone--and I felt so terrible for him! Thankfully the cereal, Honey Bunches of Oats with Strawberries, is also a treat in his mind, so that did the trick. But seriously, I could not even believe he remembered "the treat"!
( this picture is of Graeme in his new non-skinny jeans--and he looks like such a big boy to me! I love the all-boy pose as well. And those chucks? Size 7, people, size 7. We can't keep up with this little growing boy, but are very thankful that he is growing by such leaps and bounds. hello, summer, wink wink! )
today we are off for a few more adventures. Friends of ours are out of town and left us their car for the week. Yesterday we went to the library, visited the ducks, and took our car for a car-wash and I'm pretty sure Graeme was in heaven!
happy Wednesday to you!
