( pin the mustache! )
Last evening, we celebrated my husband and his turning thirty........
Steve's family is in town ( we all haven't been together for Christmas since before Steve and I were married! ) and we began the evening by going out to dinner together--just the adults ( plus Jobie! ) and it was so nice. And then we headed home for a little pacific northwest-ish, rugged themed dessert party.
Our friends were sweet and funny as they looked at me like I had lost it when I asked them to don beards and mustaches for a few snap-snaps. But they were great sports. ( And I'll be posting those pictures on facebook because I wasn't sure if they wanted them in the blogosphere, wink wink! Although, Meghan, you were so cute, I had to post yours! )
My mother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brooke, saved the day by helping me prepare all of the food for the party. I wouldn't have been able to pull of the shindig without them! Oh, and I highly recommend the wooden spoons from Birchware. I love the look of them and they added a fun touch to the chocolate covered spoons that I made for our coffee and hot chocolate cups.
A lot of fun memories were made last evening, and as we were headed to bed, I handed Steve an envelope of some letters from dear friends that had written him on the occasion of him turning thirty--many of them live across the country and couldn't wish him happy birthday in person, but let me tell you, well, I cried when I read the letters. They were some of the sweetest gifts I think my husband has ever received. So, thank you, ( you guys know who you are ) for being the friends that you are to my husband. And thank you to our friends and family that joined us last evening to make such special memories!
happy 30th birthday to my handsome, rugged, northwest boy, wink wink!
