I'm always in favor of fresh starts, new beginnings, and clean slates, aren't you?
This morning, I welcomed twenty-twelve by wiping my chalkboard clean. I was a tad sad to say goodbye to my hand-drawn, twenty-eleven advent calendar but also excited for all of the new things my chalkboard will hold this month. ( I think a grocery list needs to form on it soon or my little family will be eating leftovers for a few days! )
It's been a bit quiet around Cranny lately and I've decided that I need to have a fresh start for the new year. And I decided that my friends, followers, and closet fans, wink wink, need to have a part in said fresh start.
And so, without further rambling, let's have a Cranny give-away, shall we?
Let's give away this sweet little merry banner.
(Read the deets on her here. )
This give-away will be open until Saturday, January 14th. A winner will be chosen and announced on Monday, January 16th.

leave a comment telling me your favorite thing about beginning a new year. For instance, tell me how long it takes you to break your new year's resolutions. I don't mean to brag, but I think I've already broken about 8 of mine, wink wink. Oh, I kid. I didn't even make new year's resolutions this year. Shoot, I hardly even knew that it was new year's day! ( still catching up on sleep, but I love my sweet baby boy! )
So, yep, just leave a comment. You don't have to become a follower of this blog or a follower of Cranny. You don't have to make a purchase and you don't have to sell your firstborn. You don't have to do 50 push-ups or text, tweet, or facebook about it. Just leave me a comment and make sure to leave your contact information in case you are the lucky winner of miss merry!
Here's to beginning twenty-twelve in a bright and merry way...................
Can't decide if I'm happy to be the first or at least one of the first commenters...;)
ReplyDeleteI love that the new year brings with it a new slate. I haven't set any resolutions, but I've made several financial goals and hope to come up with some personal ones as well soon. Somehow I feel goals get accomplished more than resolutions. ;)
my favorite thing about starting a new year is just thr promise of hope.... that feeling of "this is going to be the year, this is going to be my year!" i am a dreamer by nature, so i love being able to dream about what is to come.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually make resolutions but a new year always brings the feeling of a fresh start and a new perspective. (mattnlizsmith@gmail.com)
ReplyDeleteMy very favorite part of a new year is getting a new calendar. I love to write all birthdays and special events in their in pretty colors and nice handwriting. I love to look at the empty pages and anticipate what will fill them. {Confession...I love it so much, I usually buy my calendar in September or October to have it ready to go on January 1.} I use the same type calendar each year and keep them as a sort of diary.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing is just the hopefulness of starting again....thinking of the things I want to try or do differently this time.
ReplyDeleteI love ordering my new Franklin Covey refill for my planner -- yes! I still use paper!!
ReplyDeleteI love the fresh feeling of cleaning and organizing after the New Year.
ReplyDeleteNo resolutions for me either! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about beginning a new year is looking back to see what God has done as well as looking forward to what He will bring in the year ahead!

We have been going away for New Years for a few years now and it's really nice to step back and evaluate and jot down my "list" of ideals to start/stop for the new year while away from the hub-bub of our normal schedule. And I do love a clean slate. Literally. :)
ReplyDeleteMerriest of New Years to you!

(and thanks for making this giveaway simple!)
I love to think about the new year and all it will hold. I look back on the lessons learned the year before and wonder about the ones yet to come.
ReplyDeleteI don't make resolutions because I can't seem to keep them. Getting showered and dressed every day is usually a high and lofty-enough personal goal for me. :O)
So sweet of you to have this giveaway. Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family!
I love the chance to start fresh in the new year! God's gift of time to us. There's something about new year's resolutions that I just love (more like new year's goals for me)...but I do have trouble keeping them! I met two goals last year, and I think that was a first!
ReplyDeleteI believe in new beginnings and look forward to re-birth, creativity & exploration on so many levels!
ReplyDeleteSweet wishes to you in 2012. So very kind to offer a merry give-away!
would always love a Cranny treasure. :) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI love the return to the normal schedule after the holidays, the time of evaluation and re-committment, and the opportunity to count the blessings of the last year.
ReplyDeleteI love a fresh start! A time to redicate myself to the tasks God has called me to and the ones He's called me to love!

I have a new little one as well and the new year completely passed me by :) I'm looking forward to having company gone and life back to normal soon....whatever the new normal will be.
ReplyDeleteWhat I loved most about this new year was an extra day off from work and the super clean kitchen that day off afforded me. The clean kitchen was a goal from sometime last year, but I'll take victory where I can get it!
