our wagon and a winner from the Cranny give-away!

I don't think I mentioned it here before, but in December, my husband was in a car accident on his way home from work.  He was on I-26, at a hot traffic spot, and the driver behind him totally missed the brake-light memo.  I was extremely thankful that my Steve walked away unscathed; the driver hit our car going at a pretty good clip, as you can see from the snapshot above.  Needless to say, the insurance company totaled our car and thus began our search for a new vehicle.

We've been thinking Volvo wagon for a little while now, and I am thrilled to say that at the end of this week, we will be volvo owners!  I love it.  I love the track record of Volvo wagons.  I love the look of a wagon.  Call me crazy, but I feel really hip in my wagon:)  I love the seats that pop-up in the back--you know, the ones that face backwards.  And I love the leather seats and seat warmers.  Leather seats + small children ( read: spills, spit-up, and blow-outs ) equals win in my book!  And did I mention that I am super excited about the seat warmers?  Well, I am, wink wink!

God provided so much for us through this seemingly bad event called a car accident.  We would have never been able to purchase two cars with cash in addition to paying for our upcoming trip to Boston for Nate and Katie's wedding.  ( We are now on the look-out for a second car for Steve to commute back and forth to work. )  I kind of feel like I've been drowned in God's kindnesses lately.  I'm so thankful for these blessings.

We've been a one-car family since we moved here to Oregon and, in all honesty, it really hasn't been terrible.  But with Graeme becoming older and more active, the want for a second car began to grow and we've been praying about it for some time now.  I am overwhelmed with thankfulness for how this want has been supplied.  With Steve's busy schedule and adding sweet Job to our family, even grocery shopping was becoming well-nigh impossible.  Many times, Steve would just have to pick up items on his way home from work, making his arrival time even later, and time with the boys even less.  To say that I am grateful for God meeting this want would be a very large understatement.

thank you, Jesus!
