Holidaying .

I apologize to those of you who expected something new here over the last couple of weeks. There's been no shortage of exciting and enjoyable activities here in our little corner of the pacific northwest. Family came to visit, birthdays were celebrated, presents were found and bought (or made at the midnight hour, ha!), and the hustle and bustle of Christmas has kept us quite entertained. But in light of Newtown's tragedies, all of these things seemed to not have a place in this space. Quiet seemed the better choice for a little while. As a mama to young ones, the murder of those young children has effected me deeply. Last night was only the second night that I have been free from horrific dreams. I pray often for the parents of Newtown. I cannot imagine their loss. I pray that God would literally speak to them, that he would reach down and make himself known so personally, so significantly, in their time of grief to bind up their wounds.

That being said, I know it is important for me to be present even in the midst of difficulty. I feel silly even writing that because I was not the one stripped of a very loved little one. I think I could write for paragraphs and paragraphs and never really be able to fully explain the mix of emotions in my mind.   I'm thankful that I can take those families to the throne of Jesus. For now, I will leave you with a few pictures from the last several days, wishing you a wonderful Christmas day with your friends and family. Because there is Hope and He is with us, Merry Christmas.

fresh greens + a new blanket for Graeme from Granna // winter chiney piece, or, the rather unfortunate placement of the snowman's buttons by the most adorable three year old ever // Jobie toes // ornament love // my new dining room chairs, five for twenty! // holiday jig // mister-fourteen-months-so-sweet // cutest expression ever // Christmas trees and flowers // at The Country Cat with Uncle Nate + Aunt Katie // front door + peeking tree lights // Cranny yarn trees // merry, merry Christmas from us!

Thank you so much for reading here. I can't begin to express how grateful I am for you, my reading friends. See you in the new year!
