Hello from California!

// ocean view painted loud and clear on the road and what a view it was! // Cali catching up to Graeme on the ocean view trail. We have absolutely loved having Cal-girl with us. She is the best dog ever. I kid not. // Gold Beach, Oregon // the next morning we woke up to a gentle rain, making the coastline even more beautiful // Job's personality (and pants!) slays me // my almost four year old and his crazy awesome hair // we went searching for fresh crab and ended up with salmon jerky // boats docked in Brookings, Oregon // Gualala. Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la, la, la. We had a lot of fun with that name. (smirk) // the drive-through tree in the Redwood Forest! // on our way to Glass Beach in Fort Bragg // the beautiful California countryside // San Francisco on a cloudy morning // those golden hills that I love //

Over the last week, we traveled down the coast from Oregon to California. Saying that this trip has been wonderful and amazingly beautiful would probably be the understatement of the year. We've seen so much beauty on this trip, beginning with the Oregon coastline, then the Redwood Forest, then farther down into San Francisco. As we drove into California I couldn't get over the sight of the golden hills. I realized, again, how beautiful this place, where I was born and raised, is to me. I hope you'll enjoy these snaps from the last week. We'll arrive home in Oregon on Tuesday evening and begin the process of making our house our home. And I look forward to sharing more about that soon! (By the way, thank you so very, very much for your kind comments on the last couple of posts.)

  1. One of my favorite people in the world, Joanna, moved to SF this year (her blog is http://Honeyandsalt.com). The thought of another of my favorite people in the world (YOU) being in the same place at the same time is giving me major SF wanderlust. These pictures are gorgeous!

    1. Shanna,
Oh! I need to check out her space-- thanks for the link! Well, I have to tell you-- you need to take a west coast trip but you are only allowed to take one if you visit me too. You knew I'd say that, right? : )

It was so wonderful to be back in San Francisco. I don't even know how to describe it. I love California, but the SF area is especially wonderful to me. Yes. You need to go there, friend!
