Ain't Nobody Got Time for That! // Heart Art 9.12

A few weeks ago, I asked my Cranny + Me facebook friends to share their favorite quotes. Even though it's just now September, I am already on the hunt for the perfect quote(s) for the 2014 Cranny calendars that I'll be selling in my Etsy shop. (I was so overwhelmed by the purchases of and support for the 2013 Cranny calendars and I'm really excited about what is in store for this coming year's batch!) One of my favorite followers, yes it's my husband!, left me the following quote suggestion on the facebook thread-- "Ain't nobody got time for that!". And although it would appear he was making the statement that he did not have time to think of quotes, the truth is that he really thought it would be funny to put those words on a calendar. At first I just laughed. Then, I wrote back and said-- "Babe! I'm totally doing this--this is awesome!".

And, well, here it is! I am so excited to finish this project. I have yet to attach the calendar portion and I have one more idea I'd like to try concerning the lettering, but all in all, I'm officially calling this my ninth installment of my Heart Art project for this year-- a project I assigned myself for completing a piece of art each month.

Also, I want to say this-- I love to know how things originated. If you haven't seen the fantastic lady who coined the phrase, "ain't nobody got time for that!", I'd love to introduce you to her here. I would love to meet this gal. Sweet Brown, your personality is my cup of tea. And, I agree. Bronchitis? Ain't nobody got time for that!  Also, we love Sweet Brown's quote because our three year old, who turns four next week!, has learned to say it and we crack up every time at his antics!

p.s. While I was photographing the calligraphy, Jobie joined me. I'm so glad he did. It felt really good to capture these little moments with him this morning!

p.s.s. I am still on the hunt for another quote for a second calendar that I'll be doing. Have any ideas? Shoot them my way and if your idea is chosen you'll receive a few calendars in the mail for free!

  1. Such a great quote...when I told the kids that they had their teeth cleaning scheduled at the dentist on oct 31, wil said that if the dentist told him he couldn't eat candy that day he would tell her, "hey lady, ain't nobody got time for that!"

Can't wait to see your calendars! I know they will be beautiful!!

p.s. When the calendars are finished, you'll have to let me know which one you'd like (if you want one!) and I'll get a couple out to you! : )

    1. Sarah! I love these, especially the Thoreau one! What are you up to these days? Steve will be teaching at Ecola again in November and we'll be sad to not see you!

    2. I love quotes by Thoreau! :) I am sticking close to home (as a friend's wedding is coming up in the fall) and working at Red Robin right now - I have moved "up the ranks" and am almost done training to be a server! I am hoping to visit Ecola several times over the school year, as money allows, so maybe I will see you guys there! Let me know what week in November he'll be teaching! Are you all going with him?
