On Monday, the Oregon Coast Aquarium hosted my little family, including our well loved PopPop and Granna, who are visiting from the east coast. The Oregon Coast Aquarium is situated in a beautiful place, on the edge of the quaint coastal town of Newport. We piled into Elsa and drove towards the coast, while listening to some raucous laughter from Granna and Jobie. (smile)
Graeme was completely smitten with the Oregon Coast Aquarium. The poor little guy begged to stay, even though we'd been there for hours. Also, the aquarium scored a heap of brownie points with their penny presses. (We came home with four new pressed pennies to add to our collection that we began on our Oregon/California coast trip!)
Our favorite things from the day were watching the sea lions being fed, the 'Sea and Me' exhibit-- a room filled with hands-on play stations, touching anemones and starfish, seeing larger than life crabs, the aquarium tunnel, and last but not least, the jellyfish. The jellyfish! They were beautiful! Also? Our Job Hudson was quite entertaining to watch as he found the pea gravel fascinating as well as plunging his hands into any water he came across! (I believe we are now fully stocked up on bacteria, thankyouverymuch!)
Thank you, Oregon Coast Aquarium, for hosting our family and for your kindness to us. We had a marvelous time and I'm positive that Graeme has already dreamt of going back again! Washington and Oregon readers (or anyone that plans to be in the pacific northwest!), enter the Rafflecopter below for two free tickets to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, a $38 value.
